Alas, the school cafeteria: A place where gluten and other allergens are free roaming. Don’t fret, there are plenty of wonderful GF conveniently packaged foods your child will enjoy (And many non-GF kids might get jealous of how delicious they look!)
Here are my favorite gluten-free products for school lunch:
Udi’s bread
I absolutely adore Udi’s, as I have written about them several times. Their bread has a wonderful taste and the texture is just like real bread. It is shelf stable and great for sandwiches. Click here for a recipe on Sassy Grilled Cheese. PB&J would also be a good choice for a lunch box. For online ordering, click here.
GoRaw Freeland Foods: Flax Snax
Flax is a wonderful source of magnesium, omega 3’s, fiber and protein. Their flax snax are gluten-free, nut-free and produced in an all-raw kitchen.
Enjoy Life: Soft baked, chewy chocolate chip cookies
Enjoy Life is such a wonderful company. They strive to make sure all their products are free of the top 8 allergens which are: gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish and shellfish. I personally am in love with these cookies. Their soft chewy texture is wonderful.
Kettle Foods: Potato Chips
These chips are the real deal. They are salted to perfection and have a wide variety of delicious flavors. All chip products are made in a dedicated gluten-free facility and are also free of nuts (for those with nut-allergies). Some of my favorite flavors include: Jalapeno, Sweet Onion and Backyard BBQ- YUM!
