Pamela’s Products and GIG invite you to join the gluten-free challenge

Pamela’s Products is partnering with the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) to conduct a Gluten-Free Challenge that will coincide with gluten-free awareness month in May. To raise awareness for celiac disease and gluten sensitivity, the public is invited to eat completely gluten-free for the entire weekend of May 22-23. Participants can register for the challenge beginning April 1, 2009.

Registrants will receive a daily ‘Tip of the Day’ and ‘Recipe of the Day’ email to encourage daily experimenting during May and to prepare for the Gluten-free Challenge weekend. As a bonus, Pamela’s Products and GIG are encouraging participants to visit participating restaurants in the gluten-free “Chef to Plate” program.

Having been on the gluten-free diet for almost 13 years, this challenge can really help friends and family understand that gluten-free food is actually good, is prevalent and isn’t depriving. Since food is what brings us all together this challenge offers a prime opportunity for education, fellowship and experimentation.
