Trader Joe’s has a nice variety of gluten-free products available.  These products range from frozen waffles, to granola, Lara bars, brownie mix and bread.  One of the favorites for kids is the boxed macaroni & cheese.

Trader Joe’s gluten-free macaroni & cheese is very easy to make.  Similar to the Kraft macaroni & cheese, the pasta is added to boiling water and cooked for 10 – 12 minutes.  While the pasta is cooking, the cheese mix is mixed with 1/4 cup of low-fat milk and stirred.  Once the pasta Read More »

Wendy’s Updates Gluten-free Menu Again (Updated 6/24/2014)

Back in February I wrote an article on Wendy’s updated gluten-free menu.  I wrote the article mainly because they removed a lot of the salads that had previously been listed as gluten-free.  The menu has been updated again.  Fast food restaurants tend to change offerings based on the season, so I applaud Wendy’s for keeping us informed.

The current gluten-free menu for Wendy’s can be viewed here.  The Baja Salad has been added to the gluten-free list.  This salad contains much of the same ingredients that the Southwest Taco Salad did or does.  While the gluten-free menu still lists the Southwest Taco Salad, the regular online menu does not. Redbridge gluten-free beer has been reformulated

Redbridge gluten-free beer seemed to be a thing of the past earlier this year.  All of a sudden it disappeared from grocery stores shelves.  Tiffany Janes at Celiac-Disease.com reported that after speaking with a representative from Anheuser-Busch, she confirmed that the beer was being reformulated, not discontinued.

It seems the beer was too high in alcohol to be sold in every state.  The beer was reformulated to contain only 4% alcohol instead of 4.7%.  This now allows the beer to be sold in all 50 states.

Product Review: Gluten-free Cheese Crackers

I miss the days of being able to open up my pantry, reach & in pull out a box of Cheese-Its to munch on after the kids came home from school or while preparing dinner. Sure, they aren’t the healthiest food, but everything in moderation, right? I hadn’t found anything on the market that even came close to Cheese-Its until the other day. I have 3 words: .

When I bought these crackers I had no idea how blown away I would be when I took the first bite. While the crackers were a little thicker than the Cheese-Its, the flavor & texture are pretty darn close to what I remember. My Mom, quite possibly one of the world’s biggest Cheese-It fans, agreed that they were really good. Aaron and Hannah loved too! I could easily have finished that whole box off by myself!

Wendy’s updates gluten-free menu

Wendy’s has always been good about listing a list of their products on their website that are gluten-free. This list has just been updated as of February 2010. Please pay special attention as it appears that some of the salads have been removed from the list.

Items that are no longer on the gluten-free list (it is not clear whether these items are no longer offered or if they have changed gluten-free status due to suppliers or recipe changes.) Read More »
