Nationwide Children’s Hospital Hosts 24th Annual Celiac Conference

For the 24th year in a row, Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be hosting  the Celiac Conference. The conference is a great place to  mingle, shop and learn more about Celiac Disease and the gluten-free diet.   The conference will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 7:30 AM  until 4:00 PM.  There will be separate educational tracks for adults, teens & school-age children.

The Keynote Speakers Will Be:

  • Chef Michael Rice

The Agenda: 

  • Pre-conference Workshop: A Primer with Jolanda Denham, MD
  • Keynote: Gluten Free Diet: Fad or Fact with Michelle Pietzak,  MD
  • Keynote: Restaurants Preparing GF Foods with Chef Michael  Rice
  • Medication Update: Steve Plogsted,PharmD
  • What to Tell your Doctor About Your CD with Sylvia Bower,  RN
  • Mindful Eating: Discovering the Joy in Food with Amy Jones, MS,  RD, LD
  • Label Bingo with Mary Kay Sharrett,MS,RD,LD, CNSD
  • The cost of the conference is $40/person.  Individual registration is required, just follow the  instructions.  Free childcare is provided for children ages 2-6.   Those wishing to stop by to shop and skip the education can do so for  $10/person, but must register to do so.  Some of the exhibitors  include:
