Recently I was sent a sample of Rudi’s Gluten Free sandwich bread and was blown away. For the most part, I had given up enjoying bread since becoming gluten free. I have enjoyed gluten free bread at restaurants but as far as making a sandwich at home or enjoying toast for breakfast, it just wasn’t happening at home. There just didn’t seem to be a gluten free bread that I thought was worth buying much less that I truly enjoyed.
I can now say, I’m back on the bread wagon, and loving it. Rudi’s offers original, multigrain and a cinnamon raisin bread, all of which exceeded my expectations. I tried all of them toasted and un-toasted and honestly, have no complaints. To make sure I wasn’t just overly excited by having free bread sent to my house, I made my fiance try them all too. He is not gluten free and loved them. So much, that he ate the entire package of original on his own.
Rudi’s is a gluten free bakery that launched last year out of Boulder, Colorado. According to Doug Randi, VP of marketing, prior to launching, they worked with gluten free experts and tested over 100 recipes for 15 months to make sure the breads were not only gluten free but also nutritious and tasted great. Their goal, according to Randi, is to create bread that looks and tastes like real bread but that is also safe to eat.
Despite being based out of Colorado their products are nationally available at a variety of health food and large chain stores. Here you can use their store finder to find your closest location.
Their newest additions to their gluten free line are hamburger buns, hot dog rolls and pizza crusts. I have no doubt in my mind that these products will be delicious as well.

My wife and I are both gluten intolerant (I have celiac disease). We have not tried Rudi’s because of personal preference of ingredients. We have found a new bread at Trader Joe’s which is a multi-grain recipe. It makes great toast and sandwiches.
I have celiacs and a nurse I work with was having toast one morning and it smelled yummy!! I found and tried Rudi’s breads. I LOVE the cinnamon raisin as toast with a little bit of cinnamon on top… YUMMY!!!
Mark Stone, is the bread you mention Trader Joe’s brand or another? If so, can you tell me the name of it?
Does anyone know, is Rudis associated with Udis?
Hi Janice,
They are two separate companies.
