Betty Crocker’s two new gluten-free mixes, sugar cookie and all-purpose rice flour blend, will start hitting store shelves in July. Their entire line of gluten-free mixes has updated packaging, so be on the lookout for the brightly colored boxes with detailed product photos.
Most people are already familiar with their current line of gluten-free mixes of: bisquick, brownie, cookie, chocolate cake, and vanilla cake. With the addition of these two new mixes, beginner-to-expert bakers can use them to create sweet and savory treats and convert their favorite family recipes.
According to Betty Crocker, they delved into the gluten-free world when two employees and their families started follow the gluten-free diet for medical reasons. The experiences shared by these employees ‘opened their eyes’ to the challenges families face following the diet and they set out to create gluten-free versions of their mixes.
The feedback being received on their gluten-free mixes points to three common areas:
- Taste – consumers rave about the great taste of their products.
- Shareable – one dessert satisfies the whole family.
- Normalcy – these mixes help families feel “normal again” and allow them to bake for their family just like before the transition to the gluten-free diet.
Which mix are you looking forward to trying? What do you think of Betty Crocker’s gluten-free mixes?
