Gluten Free Works Gluten Free Resources News and Tips
I was traveling to NZ earlier in the year and because I had chosen Air New Zealand’s seat + bag option I wasn’t going to get any food on the plane. I therefore searched the airport for morning tea (to have at the airport) and lunch (to take on the plane). I noticed that Black Tonic Espresso Bar had a selection of gluten free muffins and therefore decided on the raspberry one for morning tea. I was pleasantly surprised, it was moist and actually tasted pretty good!

For lunch I decided on sushi from Itacho Sushi. You can eat there or use the “Sushi Express’ option for takeaway. Just remember when getting sushi to avoid anything with tempura, teriyaki and soy sauce (I often take along my own soy sauce when going out for sushi). The sushi was good, not the best I have had but definitely satisfying.
I also noticed that Santos had a number of gluten free options both savory and sweet.
It’s great to know that there are options available at the airport for those of us who are gluten free!
