The chain is the third to introduce gluten-free items this month

Chevys’ Guac My Way guacamole is part of its new gluten-free menu. Instead of chips, the dish is served with corn tortillas.

Chevys Fresh Mex this week became the latest restaurant chain to launch a gluten-free menu in its company-owned locations.

After hearing about the unsafe gluten-free pizzas at Domino’s, it was a breath of fresh air to hear that Chuck E. Cheese’s is test marketing gluten-free pizza and cupcakes at select Minnesota locations under the guidance of the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG).

Both of their gluten-free options will arrive in pre-sealed, single-serve packaging and they will remain that way through preparation to be opened and served at the table by the adult in charge. This means both the pizza and the cupcake will arrive at the table free from cross contamination and ready to be enjoyed by the birthday child!

5/8/2012 9:29 PM ET  (RTTNews) – Domino’s new gluten-free pizza should not be eaten by people with Celiac disease, the company said in a statement. Apparently, the first gluten-free pizza being offered by national pizza chain is designed for people with gluten sensitivity, as opposed to those with full-blown Celiac disease.

I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to try Porta Via Italian Kitchen since hearing for the past year that they have amazing gluten-free pizza. But I’ve been leaning towards a high raw/vegan diet, so I’ve been less attracted to restaurants claiming to have the next best gf crust.  Yawn…

Having guests in town gave us the perfect opportunity to try Porta Via Italian Kitchen. I was astounded that they not only had gluten-free pizza, but gluten-free pasta as well.

Grilled Lamb Porterhouse Chops w/Preserved Serrano Chile Vinegar Sauce and Roasted Garlic

For the last two years my husband and I have enjoyed going to Las Vegas for a getaway. We like it there because there is gambling, shopping, shows and of course wonderful food. Those food options include an abundance of gluten-free cuisine.

While there in December 2011 we enjoyed two gourmet dinners with a plethora of gluten-free menu options.  One of the dinners was at Mesa Grill in Caesars Palace and the other was at NobHill Tavern in MGM Grand.  We also enjoyed a special breakfast complete with gluten-free Pamela’s Products pancakes ordered off of their Gluten Sensitive menu at The Cracked Egg.

A quick trip to look at some furniture for the new flat – a desk that converts to a bed.  Didn’t order it, but did have a delicious meal at Getti, 42 Marylebone High St London.

I ordered the cod with tomato and chili sauce with green beans.  Usually when I eat in a restaurant I think I could have cooked better at home.  This time I realised I didn’t know how to cook fish at all.  It was exquisite, and this from a person who doesn’t really like fish, and can’t eat the stronger tasting ones without wanting to cry.

Chick-fil-A is expanding its gluten-free options by adding grilled chicken nuggets and Buddy Fruits to their Kid’s menu.

According to Chick-fil-A’s full-time dietitian Jodie Worrell, these new menu additions come as part of Chick-fil-A’s broader initiative to offer healthier menu options to customers. Initiative highlights include the addition of the Fruit Cup in 2004 and moving to a complete menu (including all condiments) with zero trans fats in 2008. Chick-fil-A also is actively working to reduce sodium across its menu, including a 40 percent sodium reduction in its Chargrilled Chicken filet, 25 percent less sodium in breads and removing 10 percent of sodium in dressings and sauces. Additionally, the chain has removed high fructose corn syrup from its chocolate milk, and some salad dressings and sauces.
