One thing that I have really enjoyed this past summer is making breakfast parfaits.
I do not know what it is, but they are just light on the system and they kinda trip the body into thinking that it’s getting a sugary treat so you don’t crave sugar all day (YAY!)
This parfait is sweet, HEALTHY, and satisfying!

Let me introduce you to my favorite – and the most popular of my donuts…The Vegan and Gluten Free Chocolatey Glazed Donuts. No compromise in flavor here! These are just like the classic favorite, except with a subtle coconut flavor in the amazingly simple and sweet chocolatey glaze, that does not require corn syrup (so its corn free!!). These donuts are moist, and sincerely decadent. You will for sure want to eat a second and third – easily. Just picture yourself in your favorite coffee shop (Starbucks maybe???), served up one of these warm, chocolatey beauties. I know, I know…
It turns out that more than Idahoans love potatoes!
I did some research, and it appears that potatoes are America’s favorite vegetable. I never really knew that concretely, but from a personal standpoint, I can understand why! Read More »
I once was in a shopping mall in California (Sears, I believe), and read a screen t-shirt that was soooo hilarious to me that I took a picture of it. It said (and I quote), “Muffins are just ugly cupcakes”. It had a picture of this beautifully conceited cupcake staring down its low-esteemed muffin companion.
I know – pretty mean – but I had to laugh!
I have been so excited about the feedback and inspiration that the sticky buns have generated that I decided that we need one more take at these… something hazelnut – something chocolatey. Read More »
Perhaps the hardest thing to give up when attempting a vegan lifestyle are eggs.
Let’s face it.
Just type in google images right now “breakfast ideas” and watch what comes up.
In fact, I will do it for you now and tell you what I got:
- Pancakes (made with 1 egg).
- Breakfast Burritos (made with egg whites).
- Spinach and Mushroom Frittatas (made with 4 eggs).
- Over easy egg and avocado (made with eggs…I guess you knew that).
- Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich (made with meat and ….you have it…eggs).
Eggs are pretty impressive aren’t they? 100% the most popular breakfast selection – at least in America that is… (they love ’em in Europe too though, so I know that).
So that’s why the problem exists for people trying to go vegan. What are you to do about your morning breakfast when everything seems to center around eggs?
Well the answer is ~ Read More »
Although it has been warm inside with all of this baking, it has been quite chilly outside for me. Yes, that is right – this recipe is creamy, rich deliciousness that is vegan and doesn’t take forever to make!
It has been exceptionally cold around the Mid West these days, and while this is the time of the year that my heart longs for a warm repose, there is nothing like a warm classic soup to soothe the soul!
Okay, I really didn’t mean to rhyme!
But anyway, I started making this and didn’t know where I was going. Seriously.
All you chefs out there know what I am talking about… Read More »
I remember those extremely busy days for my husband and I back between 2010 and 2011. I mean, don’t get me wrong, we are always busy, but I mean at that time we were just so busy that sometimes we couldn’t fathom the thought of cooking.
Yes, those type days exist, even for gluten free vegans… Read More »
