Yes, you read that title right. California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) will add gluten-free crust to its June 29th new menu roll out. The chain already has a gluten-free menu, but it has not included pizza until now.

Fearsome tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, radiation contamination, tornados, thunderstorms, mudslides and floods are in the news. Still, other kinds of disasters like hurricanes, house fires, wildfires, explosions, extreme heat and biological threats and are real possibilities in the upcoming months. Being ready is being smart.
Underlying any disaster is the need to prepare for injuries, lack of power, unsafe water, contaminated food, loss of clothing and loss of shelter. www.ready.gov site says, “You may need to survive on your own after an emergency. Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone immediately.”

FROM NAOMI of BETTER BATTER:
To My Customers:
Recently we were advised by our contract manufacturer that they had discovered that one of our suppliers was including a dairy ingredient in one of the components (sunflower oil) used in our pancake and cake mixes.
As you can imagine for a dairy intolerant family like mine, this was extremely disturbing.
We value your health and safety highly, and my commitment to never feed anyone something I cannot feed my own child is absolute.
Any amount of cross contamination with dairy – no matter how small – is unacceptable to us and, therefore I am authorizing a nationwide product recall of all mixes of yellow cake, chocolate cake and our biscuit and pancake mix.
