Amino Acids

Amino acids comprise a group of 20 different kinds of small molecules that link together in chains to form proteins. Often referred to as the “building blocks” of proteins. An amino acid is an organic compound composed of both an amino (NH2) group and a carboxyl (COOH) group. The body produces many amino acids and others come from protein in food, which the body breaks down during digestion and, as such, are absorbed into the bloodstream for use by the cells.
