Hair Zinc Levels and the Efficacy of Oral Zinc Supplementation in Patients with Atopic Dermatitis.&nbsp;Acta Derm Venereol. 2014 Jan 28. doi: 10.2340\/00015555-1772.\">6<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How Prevalent Is Eczema In Celiac Disease and\/or Gluten Sensitivity?<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"cp_bullet black\">\n<li>Eczema has increased frequency in untreated patients with celiac disease.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">In a study of 351 consecutive children with active AD, celiac disease prevalence was more than four times as high in children with atopic dermatitis compared to previously studied randomly selected schoolchildren in Estonia.\u00a0IgA-anti-TG2 positivity was found in 4 (1.1%), IgG-anti-TG2 positivity in 2 (0.6%), IgA-anti-DGP positivity in 11 (3.1%), and IgG-anti-DGP in 10 (2.8%) patients. Celiac disease was confirmed in five (1.4%) patients with AD and all were histologically characterized as Marsh IIIa-IIIc stages and two presented with silent celiac disease. Two patients with AD diagnosed with celiac disease had no symptoms indicative of celiac disease, in spite of extensive histologic changes in the small intestine mucosa.<a href=\"#footnote_7_512\" id=\"identifier_7_512\" class=\"footnote-link footnote-identifier-link\" title=\"Ress K, Annus T, Putnik U, Luts K, Uibo R, Uibo O.
