I have been gluten-free for almost four years, so I think it’s safe to say that I know my way around the gluten-free aisle at the grocery store. I also feel like I have a pretty good handle on what brands are worth buying, which products are best for certain recipes, and what my taste-buds like in general. But, I recently found that even I can benefit from the discovery aspect that the Taste Guru box-of-the-month provides.
I started to work with Taste Guru last month (doing some blogging, sending a tweet here and there), and was sent my very own Taste Guru box so I would know exactly what it was like. The box included Canyon Bakehouse muffins, some Beautiful Sweets Valentine’s Day cookies, Popcorn Indiana Kettle Corn, A Taste of Thai Spicy Peanut Bake, Chebe Focaccia Mix, and Mezzetta Roasted Bell Pepper and Chipotle Sandwich Spread.
I had already eaten a few of the box items throughout my years, and I enjoyed having them once again because they are quality products. But the part that I enjoyed most about the Taste Guru box was getting items that I would never pick up myself at the grocery store. Prime example: Mezzetta Sandwich Spread.
Sandwich spread is one product I would never even look for at the store. I rarely put condiments on my sandwiches and I always thought it was because that’s just how my taste-buds worked. But, Taste Guru helped me to realize that I was wrong. I LOVE SANDWICH SPREAD! It is the discovery of the century for me. Since receiving the box, I have been looking for different ways to use it and reasons to eat sandwiches. I’m literally obsessed with it now.
So the point of this post is that even if you’ve been gluten-free for many years, and you feel like you know everything about your options, you don’t. There are always new ways to liven up your diet, and bring your food to life. I am confident that Taste Guru boxes will help me to do this, while also giving me the chance to enjoy old favorites as well!
Is there a gluten-free product that you recently discovered? How did you come across it?
