I was not able to go to Expo East this year, so I have been researching blogs and tweets to see what gluten-free products got some buzz. After researching, I didn’t find a whole lot of new products that weren’t introduced earlier in the year at Expo West (sister show in California), but there were some interesting ones.

By and large there seemed to be a lot of snack foods at the show, but the ones I heard about the most were Brad’s Raw Foods new Pina Kale-ada flavored kale chips, Real Deal Snacks and their gluten-free cheetos, and a new pretzel line by Gratify. According toGluten Free Philly, Gratify offers: sticks, twists, plain, sour cream & onion and sesame thins, and chocolate and yogurt-coated twists. Their pretzels will be available nationwide in early 2013.

Of course we have to talk about gluten-free pizza. Better 4 U! was there with their line of healthful pizzas and my favorite their vegan roasted vegetable made with Daiya’scheese (you can read my review here). Eco Vegan Gal mentioned Bold Organic’s new gluten and soy-free pesto pizza. The big news was the nationwide release of Conte’s Pasta’s gluten-free bake-in-bag pizza at Chuck E. Cheese’s on October 15th. Conte’s is also set to release a refrigerated line of gnocchi, ravioli, and pierogi. (thanksGluten Free Philly)

To me, you can’t talk about pizza without talking about cheese, dairy-free cheese that is. Jules Gluten Free tweeted about Nutty Cow and their line ofsoy-based cheeses in: ricotta style spread, garlic herb spread, and maple pecan spread. Eco-Vegan Gal tweeted about Earth Balance’s dairy-free Roasted Garlic and Herb and Sweet Cinnamon spreads.

Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods introduced gluten-free Museli at the show that received rave reviews. Celiac Central twitter account talked about Dr. Lucy’s two new holiday flavors of cookies: Holiday Sugars, and Chocolate Merry Mint.

No report on Expo East would be complete without talking about bars. Eco Vegan Gal tweeted a photo of Go Max Go Foods‘ new Thumbs Up Bar that is dairy and soy free. Gluten Free Philly included a photo of thinkThin’s new Divine bar.

Did you attend Expo East? What were your favorite gluten-free products?
