The Les Misérables food allergy parody that will knock your hypoallergenic socks off!
With the amazingly popular hit musical Les Miserables coming to theaters oh so soon (only 26 days, but who’s counting?!), I thought it would be appropriate to share this funny and amazing “One Grain More” video made by four people who are struggling to cook gluten free. I loved the line, “This never ending road to gluten free,” boy does that seem true sometimes!
Hopefully you don’t have one shred of leftover turkey hanging out in your refrigerator today. But just in case you do, our recipe for gluten-free turkey tortilla casserole gives the last vestiges of the old bird a flavor facelift.

Dr. Rodney Ford, pediatrician and author of The Gluten Syndrome, provides us with an excellent and easy-to-follow video that tells us how to know if we need a gluten test.
This short presentation explains which symptoms to look for and tells you the tests you need to to request to find out if gluten is making you sick.
Dr. Ford estimates up to one third of people with chronic diseases are being affected by gluten and sums up why people do not ask to be tested. “We are so used to being sick that we don’t know we’re sick.” People think they have always been this way, so they do not know to ask.
He then establishes a great litmus test to determine who should be tested – “People who are sick, tired or grumpy should be tested.”
This gluten free recipe for pecan pie is incredibly sweet and delicious. Don’t be intimidated about making homemade pie crust. A food processor makes the task fast and easy- just keep your butter or shortening chilled and use ice water.
The rich pecan filling is mixed in a blender, making this a fast and easy favorite.
Tip – An 8 or 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom makes a nice-looking crimped crust and makes cutting pies easy too.
Everyone loves Chocolate Chip Cookies! Now you can enjoy some that are not only Gluten-Free, but GRAIN-FREE as well. Almond Flour is high in protein, and a good source of magnesium and vitamin E. I hope you love these as much as I do!
With all the working out I do it still surprises me how most days I honestly don’t get hungry. It’s something that confuses me, but something I’ve just accepted as a “normal” part of my life.
What helps me cope with this is focusing on how food is nourishing and will help me continue to be healthy. I continually look for ways to make my diet more “nutrient dense.” I’m happy to report that I have been increasing the amount of veggies I’m eating and have found more that I am enjoying! However the child in me is coming out because I have to hide them in my foods….whatever way works right?
Last night I made a delicious bowl of pasta with pesto, eggplant, and peppers. I added kale as well but I think it would of been better if I steamed the kale. Sorry for the absence of a picture, but I must say it was a beautiful {and colorful} creation!
