Adopting a strict 100% gluten-free diet is mandatory. Do not eat gluten (wheat, barley, rye and oats) and do not apply anything containing gluten to your skin. There is no other treatment for immune responses to gluten. These responses include celiac disease, non-celiac disease gluten sensitivity and allergy. Remember, only 1/8th teaspoon of flour can keep the immune reaction active.

Eliminating gluten is the first step because your body cannot recover as long as it is being:

1) Damaged by inflammation in the case of any immune response to gluten.

2) Deprived of nutrition through malabsorption in the case of celiac disease.

    Remove the Trigger. Maintain a Strict, Nutritious Gluten Free Diet. Removing gluten is the first step, but a strict gluten-free diet that meets your individual needs is necessary for optimal health. Oftentimes, a nutrient deficiency, or multiple ones, is the underlying problem.   2. Reduce Inflammation. Foods to Eat and Foods Not to Eat. Gluten is inflammatory, so you must avoid foods that lead to inflammation and replace them with foods that are anti-inflammatory while you heal. Lists of each are provided.
  3. Information Sheet You Can Take to Your Doctor or Other Health Professional. Your doctor or health provider can be a valuable asset to your health.   4. Manage Your Medications Safely. Some medications deplete nutrients resulting in symptoms and complications. Here is where you will learn which ones may be influencing your health condition.

  4. Monitor Medications That Deplete or Interfere With Absorption. Medications can affect absorption or deplete certain nutrients. Discover which ones may be depleting your nutrients, leading to deficiencies and the symptoms that result.
  5. Manage Nutritional Supplements to Obtain the Deficient Nutrient. Find out the best form of the supplement to take and how much is optimal.
