Kitchen+Table Gluten-Free Pizza Dough

April 28th, 2013 by Laura Hanley

A good gluten-free pizza crust can be hard to find. Sure, there are a variety of options out there these days, but it can be difficult to find a brand that is decently priced but doesn’t taste like cardboard.

I am happy to say that I have found a pizza dough mix that is reasonably priced, not too difficult to make, and tastes wonderful. There is no questioning that kitch+table pizza dough mix will please your palate. As the package states, incredibly easy and so crazy good that you may not believe it’s actually gluten-free. No false advertisement there. That statement is 100% the truth.

I had a kitch+table baking night this past weekend and my taste-buds had the time of their life. The plan was to make the kitch+table pizza dough for dinner and then the brownie mix for dessert. I mixed up the (more…)

This being my second year attending Expo West as media, I was really psyched to see all of the gluten-free products on display and to meet with some of my favorite companies. The event never disappoints and this year kudos goes out to the staff (more…)

Top Gluten-Free Picks from Expo West 2013

April 10th, 2013 by Jennifer Harris

daiya-expo-west-2013There was definitely a lot to take in at Expo West in Anaheim, CA. This year’s event saw record attendance of 63,000 industry members and 2,428 exhibiting companies. Needless to say, that is a lot of ground to cover in three days, but I did my best.

I thought this year I would let you know about my favorite products found at the event, and then follow up with a more thorough article of all of the notable gluten-free products. Here are my top gluten-free picks in alphabetical order: (more…)

gluten free cookies by lucy'sDoes your family love Lucy’s gluten-free cookies as much as mine does?  If so, you will be happy to hear that Lucy’s has added two new lunchbox-friendly products to its baked goods line… Lucy’s Snack N’ Go cookie packs and Brownie Cakes.  Both products are now available in stores!

I greatly appreciate the convenience factor of Lucy’s new Gluten Free Brownie Cakes and Snack N’ Go Packs; being that I pack my daughter a gluten free lunch for school each day it is a blessing when (more…)

Better 4 U Pizza Gluten Free Dairy Free

Every Wednesday I look forward to watching the weekly video of new product reviews from Phil Lempert, The Supermarket Guru, because usually at least one gluten-free product is included in each episode. After scoring a hit (85 and above) of an 88, this Examiner was very interested to sample the gluten-free pizza from Better 4U Foods.

Unfortunately I cannot tolerate dairy or soy and it is quite difficult to find a dairy/soy-free, gluten-free pizza. In steps Better 4U Foods with their dairy/soy free roasted vegetable pizza made with Daiya cheese and a multi-grain crust made with (more…)

Gluten-Free Review: Perfect Foods Bar

The other day I was out with some friends at our local climbing gym. After a few attempts to reach the top, I was feeling worn out and super-duper hungry. Luckily, when I opened the snack fridge, I happened to find these Gluten-Free Energy Bars. I tried the ALMOND BUTTER flavor, which is made with organic almonds and honey, and other healthy ingredients like pumpkin seed oil, flaxseed oil, and dried whole food powders from organic carrots, bell peppers, apples, tomatoes, spinach, and more. It was like nothing I had ever tasted….and definitely, VERY TASTY indeed!

The next week I contacted Perfect Foods Bar company and they sent me (more…)

Friday’s Find: Attune Probiotic Bars

July 2nd, 2012 by Heather

“What matters most is what’s inside.”  I love that line from Attune Foods.  It’s true about people, and it’s true about food.  Attune believes in using pure and simple ingredients that make you feel good from the inside out. So do I.  That’s why I love their products.  And recently, I’ve tried a new one.

I take a probiotic in capsule form daily.  But lately I’ve been eating Attune Probiotic Bars. They are little gluten-free chocolate bars packed with 6.1 billion CFUs of clinically supported strains of probiotics.  They come in three different flavors:  Milk Chocolate Crisp, Mint Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate.

I expected these probiotic bars to taste like a health bar.  But they taste like a bar you’d choose for a treat, not for your tummy!  Whenever I can’t believe how delicious something is I give it to the Husband to try.  I (more…)

KUR SuperfoodsSince I am always on the lookout for a sweet snack that is free of gluten, dairy, and soy, I was happy to receive samples of KURDelights.  So many gluten-free bars/snacks contain soy protein and/or dairy, or they are very high in sugar and carbs and low in protein and fiber, which is not the case with KURDelights.

These bite-sized snacks contain just enough sweetness to satisfy my sweet tooth and they come in three flavors: Brownie, Coconut Cream, and Dark Chocolate Mint.  My favorite flavor is the coconut cream followed by brownie and then dark chocolate mint.  These healthy snacks are: (more…)

Gluten-free Finds at Expo West 2012

This was my second time attending Expo West and this time I attended as a member of the press for Examiner.com.  I have been writing for Examiner.com as their Atlanta Gluten-free Examiner since 2009, so it was very exciting to receive press credentials and attend.

Attending as a member of the press means I had access to the press room to review materials, I was able to talk with the public relations specialist for companies and I got to chat with other journalist to see what they thought of the show.  Overwhelmingly they all commented on the increased number of gluten-free products at this year’s event.

Last year I was completely overwhelmed by the experience, so this year I was more prepared.  I spent the majority of my time in Room E, which housed those vendors with new products.  The room was full of gluten-free products and after four hours of combing the room I still had not seen all of them.  The best part was a large percentage of the new gluten-free products had (more…)
