Kitchen+Table Gluten-Free Pizza Dough

April 28th, 2013 by Laura Hanley

A good gluten-free pizza crust can be hard to find. Sure, there are a variety of options out there these days, but it can be difficult to find a brand that is decently priced but doesn’t taste like cardboard.

I am happy to say that I have found a pizza dough mix that is reasonably priced, not too difficult to make, and tastes wonderful. There is no questioning that kitch+table pizza dough mix will please your palate. As the package states, incredibly easy and so crazy good that you may not believe it’s actually gluten-free. No false advertisement there. That statement is 100% the truth.

I had a kitch+table baking night this past weekend and my taste-buds had the time of their life. The plan was to make the kitch+table pizza dough for dinner and then the brownie mix for dessert. I mixed up the (more…)

Italian Polenta Pizza (For Two)

April 5th, 2013 by Bella McKenzie

I really could not wait to share with you this fun dish that I made. Polenta pizza – something adults, teens, and children love. And it’s healthy! Being gluten free and vegetarian sometimes can be a little bit of a task in the kitchen, nevertheless when you have in-season, fresh vegetables and garden herbs and spices, coupled with a few other ingredients in the kitchen, there is no telling what you can come up with.Screen shot 2013-02-12 at 10.02.05 PM (more…)

While shopping for munchies, I noticed the Pizza Al Pollo Asado at Trader Joe’s. This Mexican-inspired pizza is made on a corn masa crust and is layered with grilled chicken, refried beans, jack cheese and salsa. I honestly had not noticed it before and according to the packaging, it is made with no gluten ingredients, so I gave it a shot.dffc5c97f4f107e8cd2c62d15f7c265b

Every Wednesday I look forward to watching the weekly video of new product reviews from Phil Lempert, The Supermarket Guru, because usually at least one gluten-free product is included in each episode. After scoring a hit (85 and above) of an 88, this Examiner was very interested to sample the gluten-free pizza from Better 4U Foods.

Unfortunately I cannot tolerate dairy or soy and it is quite difficult to find a dairy/soy-free, gluten-free pizza. In steps Better 4U Foods with their dairy/soy free roasted vegetable pizza made with Daiya cheese and a multi-grain crust made with (more…)

After hearing about the unsafe gluten-free pizzas at Domino’s, it was a breath of fresh air to hear that Chuck E. Cheese’s is test marketing gluten-free pizza and cupcakes at select Minnesota locations under the guidance of the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG).

Both of their gluten-free options will arrive in pre-sealed, single-serve packaging and they will remain that way through preparation to be opened and served at the table by the adult in charge. This means both the pizza and the cupcake will arrive at the table free from cross contamination and ready to be enjoyed by the birthday child!

How can they do this with a pizza you ask?  The cheese pizza is made by (more…)

I can’t believe that it has taken me this long to try Porta Via Italian Kitchen since hearing for the past year that they have amazing gluten-free pizza. But I’ve been leaning towards a high raw/vegan diet, so I’ve been less attracted to restaurants claiming to have the next best gf crust.  Yawn…

Having guests in town gave us the perfect opportunity to try Porta Via Italian Kitchen. I was astounded that they not only had gluten-free pizza, but gluten-free pasta as well.
