Snikiddy Snacks Giveaway

April 2nd, 2013 by Kimberly Bouldin

Since the temperatures are finally inching their way up, it is time to start thinking about picnic season.  Everyone loves a picnic, right?  I remember going on picnics on Sundays after church when I was little and we lived in Texas. I am not sure if it was one picnic or many to that specific park, but I remember my mom packing fried chicken.

Their products are awesome in taste and quality, and that is why I am truly a fan!  I never would have thought that I could make absolutely the best cake donuts both gluten free and vegan before this.  I mean, let's be honest - there is not a lot of vegan and gluten free online. You search online and you find gluten free donuts - with eggs.  You find vegan donuts - with (more…)

Adding a Gluten-Free Product to My Arsenal

March 29th, 2013 by Laura Hanley

I have been gluten-free for almost four years, so I think it’s safe to say that I know my way around the gluten-free aisle at the grocery store. I also feel like I have a pretty good handle on what brands are worth buying, which products are best for certain recipes, and what my taste-buds like in general. But, I recently found that even I can benefit from the discovery aspect that the Taste Guru box-of-the-month provides.mezzetta-300x300 (more…)

Thai Vegetable Soup Recipe

March 28th, 2013 by Bella McKenzie

Although it has been warm inside with all of this baking, it has been quite chilly outside for me. And so, I thought that besides announcing the winners of the giveaway this week, I thought it would be fitting to share a delicious soup with you that I stumbled upon from Elana's Pantry. I love Elana. She has nice recipe ideas, and her recipes actually work!

This soup is (yes) both gluten free and vegan, and adds that delicious Thai style to it, which for me, is marvelous!thai veggie soup elanas pantry (more…)

So you’re diagnosed with Celiac Disease or a Gluten Sensitivity and you’re all like, “It’s the end of the world,” and you proceed to rant about how a life without gluten is not a life worth living. Even though you might want to listen to R.E.M. on repeat and binge over your last plate of fried chicken wings, you just need to get over it.

This all might sound a bit harsh to the newbie, but you need to cope, and once you do, you’re going to realize that eating gluten-free is quite possibly the best thing that could have happened to you. Here are three reasons why eating gluten-free doesn’t ruin your life:ryan-gosling-e1362972367527-224x300

Traditional Passover Food Find

March 26th, 2013 by Candice Rose Clifford

Yesterday was the start of Passover. Although I am a catholic girl, and quite honestly know next to nothing about this Jewish holiday, I do know one thing. This is the time of year where you can often find matzo stocked on the shelves of supermarkets.

Matzo-1024x682

In elementary school we would always learn about the various traditions of each holiday, and I always looked forward to when my mom would bring home matzo for my brother and me. We would eat it plain, with butter, or my mom’s personal favorite with (more…)

While shopping for munchies, I noticed the Pizza Al Pollo Asado at Trader Joe's. This Mexican-inspired pizza is made on a corn masa crust and is layered with grilled chicken, refried beans, jack cheese and salsa. I honestly had not noticed it before and according to the packaging, it is made with no gluten ingredients, so I gave it a shot.dffc5c97f4f107e8cd2c62d15f7c265b

Gluten-Free Oz

March 18th, 2013 by Laura Hanley

As you may know, Oz the Great and Powerful has made a cinematic comeback with the help of the dashing James Franco. In the strangest of ways, this movie’s plot relates directly to the gluten-free diet. This version of the classic Wizard of Oz does not include Dorothy or Toto, but it does include three types of witches and one great man that will learn how to defeat the evil that exists. Meet the characters of Oz the Great and Powerful:OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL
