Now, I’m not advocating going into debt over truffle butter, but if anything is worth over spending, this recipe is it.
We also had some extremely gourmet rib eye. Coated with McCormicks grill seasoning, seared on the charcoal barbeque, and finished off with (more…)

Lately, it seems like more and more celebrities and professional athletes are openly talking about going gluten free. Whether it’s due to a diagnosis of celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity, or simply because they want to get healthy, many of them have noted a weight loss as part of the benefits they’ve been seeing. Then why is it, that so many doctors and specialists will dismiss a diagnosis of celiac disease in a patient simply because the patient is not underweight?
In a recent article by Sonia Kupfer, MD, the belief that people with un-diagnosed celiac disease are all underweight is revealed to (more…)

Every day those of us who are gluten intolerant or sensitive need to read labels and ask questions when it comes to food. Gluten pops up in unexpected places that sometimes even shock me, so it is never safe to assume a dish/product is safe. I have previously written about unexpected sources of gluten, so this article serves as a follow up.

As we’ve discussed, everything is better in mini form.
Except portions of gourmet mac n cheese. Always take the big dish of that stuff. It’s not everyday that you will come across a heaping portion of creamy, cheesy, black truffle-y, mac n cheese.

Gluten-Free Morning Glory Muffins
2010 © Teri Lee Gruss, licensed to About.com, Inc.
The original Morning Glory muffin recipe is said to have originated on Nantucket Island, the creation of Chef Pam McKinstry. I can’t think of a better gluten-free breakfast and snack muffin than Morning Glory muffins with well over a quart of healthy fruits, carrots and nuts added. And these fragrant cinnamon spiced muffins are gluten and dairy free.
This recipe is a gluten-free adaptation of “The Original Morning Glory Muffins” which appears in The Earthbound Farm Organics Cookbook – Food to Live By by Myra Goodman with Linda Holland and Pamela McKinstry.
