Can news of a cookbook make someone smile? It can if the recipes it provides helps change a life…
“I am sitting here listening to my daughter in her speech class just thinking how this gluten free diet is making such changes. Brings tears to my eyes. I will purchase that new cookbook with a smile.” -Courtney
As more and more people come to realize the benefits of a gluten-free, dairy-free diet for autism and general health, the brand new cookbook, “Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Cooking Made Easy,” is set to produce smiles like Courtney’s across the country and around the world.
Published by Gluten Free Works, this handy book is making it easy to understand and prepare wonderful gluten-free and dairy-free meals that meet individual nutritional needs.
“Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Cooking Made Easy” is the second book by Cleo Libonati, RN, BSN. Libonati has celiac disease and follows a strict gluten-free, dairy-free diet. Her first book, “Recognizing Celiac Disease,” set the standard for recognizing, diagnosing and treating celiac disease.
In this new book, Libonati combines superb cooking skills (she is Pennsylvania Dutch) with her extensive knowledge of medicine and nutrition to create a cookbook that is much more than a collection of tasty recipes.
She explains how “Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Cooking Made Easy” came to be. “We attended the Philadelphia Autism Speaks Walk in 2009 and for every parent who told us the great strides their child was making on the diet, there were many more who wanted help and recipes they could use on a regular basis.
I created this book to be an easy-to-follow, practical cookbook that teaches people about nutrition and their diet while giving them quick, delicious and nutritious dishes that they and their families can enjoy.”
“Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Cooking Made Easy" is full of helpful health, diet and nutrition information in addition to recipes.
For example, the section titled Three Steps to Safe, Nutritious Food is a primer that walks the reader through unsafe foods that contain gluten and dairy, answers common questions about the gluten-free dairy-free diet and provides tips about buying, storing and preparing safe foods.
Appendix I, the Nature of Foods, explains macro-nutrients, micro-nutrients, describes deficiencies and the symptoms they cause and the recommended daily allowances of each. A review of the symptoms list reveals which nutrients are deficient. Each recipe conveniently includes a list of the nutrients it contains. This way, the reader can build a diet that is right for him or her.
The recipes were developed for the American palate and are delectable. Helpful pictures of each recipe show what the final dish should look like and the instructions are clear and simple to follow. Ingredients can be found at one’s local supermarket.
Gluten Free Works is donating $1 of every “Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Cooking Made Easy” ordered by September 30th to Autism Speaks. It is affordably priced at only $8.95. And that is something everyone can smile about.
The book is exclusively available at GlutenFreeWorks.com. Click here to order or see a PDF sample of the book first, including table of contents, four recipes and a pictorial index of all the recipes.
