Celiac Awareness Day at PNC Park is a special awareness and fundraising event that will help to support awareness and patient programs of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA), the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America (GIG) , and the Celiac Sprue Association (CSA) throughout the region.Pirates_logo

BIG NEWS!

The Pirates are going to have a gluten-free portable stand for the Celiac Awareness Day!! This is the food that will be served at this special concession stand.

  • Hot Dog and Gluten-Free Bun
  • Lays potato chips
  • Salads with Italian dressing
  • Nachos with Salsa only
  • Fruiticanna Fruit Smoothies
  • Peanuts
  • Soda
  • Redbridge Beer
  • Guests are permitted to bring bottled water (under 24 ounces) and food that may fit into a 16” X 16” X 8” soft-sided bag. We strongly encourage people to use judgment when consuming items and we cannot guarantee items to be gluten free.

    Groups of 20 or more will be recognized with their group name on the color LED Board. Individual flyer orders that are collected together and mailed in one envelope will be seated together. Deadline for Pirates ticket orders is seven (7) days prior to the game and all orders are subject to availability. All orders within ten (10) days of event will be held for pickup at the main ticket office at PNC Park on game date.

    1. Did you know that Jenna Drew, The GlutenFree Lifestyle Coach, or also known as @GFJenna organized this event to bring celiac awareness to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Miss Drew first became involved with celiac disease working on an internship while attending Penn State University with Lisa Lundy, the SuperAllergy Girl. As luck would have it members of Jenna’s family were dx with the illness and later she was as well. She has not stopped spreading awareness through her positive attitude.

      Jenna’s new project she is working on is Spreading Celiac Awareness on The Open Seas…. Feb 5-7, 2012, on Royal Caribbeans Adventure of the Seas Group Cruise. Won’t you please join us?
